Jefferson has over 35 years of transportation experience. He brings exceptional experience and expertise in government relations, strategic communications, business development, and public and stakeholder outreach. Prior to joining Foresight, Jefferson served three years as the Texas Transportation Practice Leader for a large consulting firm. In that capacity, his primary roles were business development and internal/external communications.

 

Jefferson is especially proud of his 31+ years serving Texans and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). During this time, he served as Director of Public Involvement and as Deputy Director of Government and Public Affairs, where he guided the agency through numerous audits and performance reviews, established new office policies and procedures intended to govern meaningful civic engagement, and guided TxDOT and the Transportation Commission’s successful legislative and Congressional programs. He is nationally recognized as a leader in developing a thoughtful and meaningful approach to civic engagement having spoken on the topic nationally through, among others, AASHTO and WASHTO, and has trained hundreds of TxDOT staff and consultants in aspects of civic participation.

Jefferson brings to clients an ability to communicate complex information to diverse audiences; a strategic and thoughtful approach to planning and change management; and a successful history of driving positive change.
