Matt has worked in various aspects of the geotechnical field for over 20 years.  He previously served as a construction material testing manager and geotechnical engineer for nation-wide firm in the Houston and Bryan-College Station offices, as well as a principal owner of an Austin-based geotechnical company. While working for these companies, he led an acquisition process and served as project manager and wall designer for multiple projects throughout the country. 
 
Matt has seven years of MSE wall design while working for the second largest MSE wall supplier in the U.S. Matt is particularly well versed in MSE and Soil/Rock Nail wall design and construction and has extensive knowledge and experience in both metallic and geosynthetic soil reinforcement designs, as well as differing backfill conditions such as cement stabilized fill, lightweight cement foamed fill, and crushed rock fill. He has managed and conducted field explorations, laboratory and field testing, retaining wall analysis, design and detailing, forensic evaluations, resolution of critical issues with MSE and soil/rock nailed walls, and construction inspection activities.
 
Matt is a registered Professional Engineer in his native state of Texas. He holds bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering and geology and a master’s degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University.
