Marcus Galvan, P.E.
Geotechnical Engineering Principal
Marcus brings industry-leading experience to the Foresight team. His 34 year career has spanned a broad range of structural, materials, geotechnical engineering, and construction activities.

For sixteen years, Marcus worked in the Geotechnical Branch of the Texas Department of Transportation’s Bridge Division. There, he supervised and managed personnel engaged in statewide geotechnical support activities such as bridge foundation and retaining wall design, development of stream scour countermeasures, evaluation and remediation of slope stability issues, forensic evaluations, participation in value engineering studies, and the development and maintenance of Statewide Bridge Geotechnical Standards and Specifications.

While with TxDOT, Marcus investigated and helped resolve issues with several critical mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls throughout the state, particularly those with loss of material and/or overall stability concerns.
​
Marcus also previously served as a principal owner of a private sector geotechnical engineering firm. He formed and grew Foresight's Geotechnical Engineering Services group and currently serves as its technical principal. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas.

Marcus is originally from Pharr, Texas, and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
